Weekend Update
The Road Runner Akron Marathon is this weekend. I will be busy along with my helpers Jo and Logan handling the Invited Marathoners as well as the 8K National Championship Women. I hope it will be a good learning experience for Logan, and an exciting time for Jo and I. Here is a link to the list of Women running the event.
Logan and I went on our campus visit to Ohio University this past Monday. Man has that place changed. I felt like I had time travelled to the future. Looking down at the bricks on the road, I remembered nearly everything about how it used to look. Lifting my head...the landscape quickly changed to new buildings, old buildings with new facades, and nice green space where heavy brush and trees used to be. I really hope he can get in there. It will shape his life nicely.

I remember visiting OU when looking at colleges years ago - that's a beautiful area.
I ended up at Bowling Green - flat as a pool table up there; great if you were a cross country runner I guess.
Same thing - I go back now and can't believe how much things have changed and been "modernized"!

We liked Athens when we visited for the marathon this past spring. The finish line was on the track...where we finished just like they do at the Olympics...one full lap followed by the inside lane finish. Great place for a spring marathon and amazingly flat given the constant hills throughout the OU campus.
I took a look at your "horribly demanding job" at having to escort those 8K runners. Dang, how do you get all these cool jobs each year?!?! Amy Rudolph and Elva Dryer I see are coming! Have a blast!
